Coral Reef Resort & Spa, Havelock

It's a really beautiful hotel I loved my stay here the staff are wonderful and the vibe is really relaxed. I was a little tired towards the end of always being told "we don't have that drink/that food/the chef isn't working", and the rooms can be a little noisy but aside from this would 100% recommend.

Excellent location

Pros - Beautiful beachfront location with lovely views. Plus lots of cute hermit crabs on the beach (we also saw a sea snake late at night, cool but sure it was a rare occasion). - Multiple pools to enjoy and relax by. - Modern, stylish rooms with thoughtful touches like a bath, kettle, and balcony/terrace. Plus the bed is really comfy. - Friendly staff: some went above and beyond to fix issues quickly (special shout-out to the “spicy cheesy fries vs non-spice request” rescue squad!). - Good food overall, with nice variety and pleasant dinner service. ⚖️ Cons / Areas for Improvement - Communication could be clearer: Some requests were only partly fulfilled or misunderstood. - Housekeeping delays: Rooms sometimes not serviced by mid-afternoon; small details (like tea stirrers and robes) were overlooked. Coming back to your room at 3pm without your room made up is not giving 5*. - Special occasions need more care: Our candlelight dinner (for our engagement!) was almost cancelled due to rain concerns and miscommunicationm. Even though my partner cancelled the candlelit dinner on the Monday, they put the decorations up anyway. Then they took them down the next day on the Tuesday. Then it rained in the afternoon. It stopped for a bit around 5pm. Despite the fact the weather was set to be clear in the evening, reception called us 90 minutes before the dinner was supposed to happen and said it was cancelled. But the excuse given was not that it might rain later; the excuse given was ‘we haven’t had time after the rain finished to put the decorations up so we won’t be able to’. By that point the rain had stopped and there was enough time to prepare the table - a full hour bare minimum. And on my weather app, the weather was set to be pretty clear. I even checked the precipitation map on my phone and I literally could see the giant rain cloud leaving the area fully between 8-10pm. But from the vibe of the phone call, it very much felt like ‘we took the decorations down this morning because we mistakenly put them up last night and now we can’t be bothered to do it again’. I had just got engaged so I wasn’t going to have someone tell me I can’t have my special dining experience because they can’t be bothered! We went to reception to ask what was going on. The same ‘we haven’t had time to prepare the table’ argument came up as well as ‘it could rain again’. I was confused because it was an hour away from the dinner time so I said something similar to ‘surely the table could be set up in that time?’ ‘It’s not raining now soooo….’ When the other manager piped up that it could rain again, I’d had enough. I just said ‘I’m British, I’m used to the rain. If it rains, it rains, you adapt. I don’t care.’ After I said this they seemed to run out of excuses and seemed to get things rolling. When one manager asked me if we’re celebrating something special and I held up my hand and said ‘yes, we just got engaged’, she seemed really surprised. How could you be? Sure

Our stay at Coral Reef Resort Havelock was nothing short of magical. The resort sits right next to the stunning Kala patthar Beach.The resort is spacious, beautifully designed, and surrounded by lush greenery, creating a peaceful tropical atmosphere. The hospitality was exceptional every staff member went out of their way to make us feel special. Breakfast was lavish with a wide variety of fresh fruits, pastries, and live cooking stations. They have Private beach which is amazing. If you are looking for a luxury beach escape in the Andamans, this place is truly world class. Cheers 🥂

I was delighted when I first entered the property and was impressed by its infrastructure and location. However, to my utter surprise, I was taken aback by the extremely poor service I experienced during my four-day stay at your premises. There appeared to be a lack of adequate staff and a clear absence of proactive problem-solving when issues were reported. On several occasions, I had to request room cleaning and bathroom essentials nearly five times before any action was taken. At one point, I even had to inform your team that if no one was sent, I would have to come to the reception myself. Additionally, basic food service was unavailable at night. We were informed that there was no chef available, which was quite surprising for a resort that positions itself as a five-star property, especially considering the amount being charged for the stay. I was further astonished when we ordered food at 11:00 AM and were told that the chef was unavailable because breakfast service had just ended and food would only be available again at 1:30 PM. The response was so unexpected that it was difficult to take seriously. Overall, the experience did not match the expectations set by the property’s otherwise impressive infrastructure. Based on my experience, I would not recommend others to book their stay here, as they may face the same lack of responsiveness and service.
